O Lord of the diamond crown, divine Boar-form,
shower us with grace,
sheltering love,
and the quiet strength of Your care.
Your radiant form awakens wonder,
drawing our hearts closer to You
in courage, comfort, and peace.
O compassionate Savior,
You lift us from sorrow;
through every name and every form,
You remain our one loving Lord,
guiding, guarding, and blessing all.
Crowned in diamond splendor,
Govinda shines upon the Seven Hills of Tirumala.
As tradition tells us,
the diamonds, emeralds, and rubies
glow with royal majesty and steadfast power,
filling pilgrims’ hearts with awe and devotion.
O Govinda, You rose as Varaha,
the mighty Divine Boar,
when Hiranyaksha plunged Earth into the cosmic sea.
O Vishnu, You lifted Bhudevi upon thy tusks,
in boundless compassion, and restored the world to light.
So too, in Varaha’s form,
You stand as Earth’s protector,
a refuge for the lost,
full of strength, compassion, and love.
When we sing, Vajra Makutadhara Govinda,
Varaha Moorthivi Govinda
majesty and mercy rise together
and fill the soul with prayer.
Govinda —
protector of cows,
joy to the senses,
the King before whom we bow,
the Father who runs to save.
These sacred names are spoken with folded hands and tears,
for they hold the fullness of the Lord:
a sovereign who reigns,
and a loving rescuer who embraces.
Across India, Your holy name
moves through many forms of devotion.
In Tirumala, hearts cry “Govinda, Govinda”
as they climb the hills in surrender.
In Maharashtra, You are sung as Vitthala
in waves of tender abhangs.
In Odisha, Lord Jagannath draws all hearts
into one ocean of devotion.
In Gokul, You are remembered as Makanchor,
the beloved child whose playful thefts
filled Yashoda’s home with laughter.
In Vrindavan, You are Kunj Vihari,
the enchanting wanderer of the groves,
and when the curtains are drawn,
You slip away with the devotee,as divine music.
In Rajasthan, You are Ranchod,
who turned from battle to uphold dharma.
In Ayodhya, You shine as Rama,
noble, just, and radiant with righteousness.
In Udupi, You are Lil Krishna;
in Dwarka, You are majestic and full of royal grace.
You are Bhadrinath in the Himalayas,
Ranganatha in Sri Rangam,
Padmanabha in Trivandrum,
and Rameshwar in Rameswaram.
Though the names are many,
the devotion is one:
love for the eternal Lord
who protects, guides, and comforts all.
Thus, the chant of Govinda
becomes a bridge across sacred India,
uniting many traditions
in one shared bhavana of surrender.
Whether whispered in prayer
or sung upon pilgrimage,
Your name carries the same divine power everywhere —
to awaken faith,
to kindle love,
and to lead every heart
home to the Lord.
