YSRCP releases manifesto, promises to increase pension, make Vizag executive capital
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRC party president, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, unveiled the comprehensive blueprint of his party’s vision for 2024 during a momentous occasion on Saturday. With resolute conviction, he emphasized that the manifesto is not just a document of promises but a pragmatic roadmap firmly rooted in reality, with each pledge meticulously designed for tangible implementation.
Speaking to the press from the sanctum of the CM’s camp office, Jagan articulated his commitment to truthfulness in governance, eschewing the deceptive rhetoric of political adversaries. Drawing a sharp contrast with his predecessors, he highlighted the track record of his administration, citing the staggering success rate of 99.4% in fulfilling the promises made during the previous electoral mandate.
Underlining the tangible impact of his governance, Jagan presented a staggering figure of Rs 2.68 lakh crore disbursed directly into the accounts of beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), alongside an additional Rs 1.78 lakh crore through alternative channels. Despite the formidable challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent revenue setbacks, Jagan affirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to delivering on its commitments without resorting to excuses.
Delving into the intricate details of the meticulously crafted two-page manifesto for 2024, Jagan outlined a comprehensive array of initiatives spanning nine pivotal categories. From bolstering social security to fostering agricultural prosperity and empowering marginalized communities, each facet of governance was intricately woven into a cohesive tapestry of progress.
In a bold move towards bolstering social welfare, Jagan pledged to elevate social security pensions to Rs 3,500, gradually escalating to ensure stability and growth in subsequent years. Turning his attention to the agricultural sector, the lifeline of the state’s economy, Jagan reaffirmed his administration’s steadfast commitment to the welfare of farmers. Promising a substantial increase in the YSR Rythu Bharsoa scheme, he outlined a structured disbursement plan aimed at empowering farmers and nurturing agricultural resilience.
Expanding the ambit of welfare initiatives, Jagan announced an extension of the Vahana Mitra scheme to encompass lorry and tipper operators, alongside significant interest subsidies for aspiring entrepreneurs in the transportation sector. Additionally, he extended the umbrella of Navaratnalu schemes to encompass outsourcing employees and frontline workers, ensuring holistic support across diverse sectors.
Addressing the contentious issue of the capital city, Jagan articulated a clear vision for administrative decentralization, designating Visakhapatnam as the executive capital, while preserving Amaravati and Kurnool for legislative and judicial functions respectively. This strategic realignment, he asserted, would catalyze growth and ensure equitable development across regions.
