Telangana vehicle state code formally changed from ‘TS’ to ‘TG’

Hyderabad: The transition from the erstwhile ‘TS’ to the freshly minted ‘TG’ as Telangana’s vehicular identifier has now been formally sanctified, marking a pivotal moment as the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways enshrined this alteration through an official gazette publication. Effective henceforth, ‘TG’ assumes the mantle, supplanting ‘TS’ as the quintessential state code adorning every vehicle registration plate within Telangana’s territorial confines.

This transformative decree stands as one of the earliest proclamations issued by the incumbent Telangana chief minister, Revanth Reddy, following the triumph of the Congress in the preceding year’s Assembly elections. A meticulously detailed gazette notification from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has been annexed herewith, certifying this monumental shift.

In a communiqué disseminated by the Telangana government on the occasion, it was expounded that henceforth, the registration plates of vehicles traversing Telangana’s thoroughfares shall proudly bear the insignia ‘TG’, heralding a new era in vehicular identification, relegating the erstwhile ‘TS’ to the annals of history.

Upon assuming the mantle of chief minister, Revanth Reddy expounded upon the perceived machinations behind the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), formerly known as TRS, opting for the ‘TS’ code, ostensibly to engender a semblance of association with the TRS. Promptly, he pronounced that this code would be transmuted come February.

The momentous decision to metamorphose from ‘TS’ to ‘TG’ was meticulously deliberated upon during a convened cabinet meeting, wherein the nascent Telangana government resolved to effectuate this transformative measure without delay.

According to the official proclamation released by the Telangana government, in accordance with the Centre’s edict, the modification from ‘TS’ to ‘TG’ has been enshrined in the roster of registration marks for states and union territories under serial number 29-A. “This strategic realignment seeks to bolster regulatory lucidity and efficacy, with immediate effect,” articulated the release, underscoring the expeditious implementation of this reformative agenda.
