Rahul Gandhi Politicising Students’ Anxiety Instead of Offering Solutions: BJP

Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Chief Spokesperson and Media In-charge N.V. Subash on Thursday strongly criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for attempting to politicise the genuine concerns of students, saying that education cannot become a stage for political opportunism.

Subash said students are not political tools and every examination-related challenge cannot be converted into an opportunity for Rahul Gandhi to launch a political campaign.

“If Rahul Gandhi is genuinely concerned about students, he must offer constructive solutions instead of creating panic, anxiety and despair among lakhs of young aspirants,” he said.

He asserted that the Congress party has a poor track record on education and must first answer for its own legacy. “For decades, India’s education system suffered from opacity, corruption, middlemen and poor infrastructure. It was during Congress rule that coaching mafias flourished unchecked. Today, Congress is attempting to rewrite history,” he said.

Subash stated that, unlike previous governments, the Narendra Modi-led government has openly acknowledged the seriousness of paper leaks and has acted decisively to eliminate the menace.

He highlighted that the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act has been enacted, stronger penalties have been introduced against paper leak mafias, investigative agencies have been empowered to dismantle organised cheating syndicates and technology-driven reforms are being implemented to strengthen examination systems.

“Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there is zero tolerance for examination fraud,” he said.

Subash further said that while Rahul Gandhi visits Kota for photo opportunities, the BJP government is focused on systemic reforms that will benefit students in the long run.
He also pointed out that the Congress deliberately ignores the transformational impact of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which has emerged as one of the biggest educational reforms in independent India.

Questioning the Congress party’s credibility, Subash asked whether Congress-ruled states have completely eradicated paper leaks, ensured transparent recruitments and eliminated examination irregularities.
“Accountability cannot be selective,” he said.

“Our fight is against organised paper leak syndicates and corrupt networks that exploit students. No student should lose an opportunity because criminals decide to make money,” he added.

Subash said more students from ordinary families are entering higher education today than ever before and reiterated that every paper leak is unacceptable and every student deserves justice.

“Rahul Gandhi’s politics may generate headlines for a day, but students need long-term solutions. The BJP stands firmly with students by strengthening institutions, ensuring transparency and building a future where merit alone decides success,” he said.
