Hyderabad: A major fire broke out in Hyderabad’s old city, in a building on Gulzar House Road near the historic Charminar. At least six people have lost their lives, including three women and two children, who succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment.
More than ten fire engines were rushed to the spot to douse the flames. The incident caused panic in the densely populated area. Around 16 people were rescued and immediately shifted to various hospitals. Many victims suffered from severe suffocation and burn injuries.
Meanwhile, on hearing the news, the Union Minister for Tourism and Telangana state BJP President G Kishen Reddy rushed to the spot and consoled the family members of those who lost their lives in the fire mishap.
