Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed officials to constitute a committee to strengthen ‘digital governance’ in the state.
Reddy, who held a meeting with officials, said the committee, comprising officials, should submit its report in 100 days.
He sought details of the implementation of ‘digital governance’ and instructed officials to formulate plans for digital governance and draft relevant legislation, a release said.
The government is targeting the prompt payment of salaries to contract and outsourcing staff. The CM directed officials to take strict action against non-compliant agencies.
The broader goal of the state is to provide better public services, directly reach beneficiaries of welfare schemes, and mandate digitization across the full-scale administrative system.
The committee’s formation closely follows the government’s rollout of the Telangana Digital Cabinet—an initiative introduced by the state’s IT Minister to conduct cabinet meetings completely paperless through special digital tablets. [1, 2, 3, 4]
