Tirupati: B.R. Naidu, Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), announced that extensive arrangements are underway for the establishment of a model temple of Sri Venkateswara Swamy near the Vasuki Temple in Sector 6 during the Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj (Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh. The grand religious event will take place from January 13 to February 26, 2025.
Addressing the media at Ramachandra Pushkarini in Tirupati on Saturday, after inspecting the SSD token issuing counters, the Chairman revealed that the model temple aims to provide devotees, particularly those from North India, the opportunity to have darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy.
Key Highlights of the Arrangements:
- The model temple will host Srivari Kalyanotsavam, Chakrasnanam, and other significant rituals, replicating the traditions observed at Tirumala.
- Decorative elements, including electrical illuminations and floral arrangements, will enhance the devotional atmosphere.
- A comprehensive action plan has been prepared to manage the expected large pilgrim turnout on the key days of the Maha Kumbh Mela.
Sri Naidu further stated that TTD officials are working collectively to ensure seamless arrangements for the event. Notably, efforts are being made to provide live broadcasts of the rituals and celebrations through SVBC, enabling devotees worldwide to participate virtually.
The announcement was made in the presence of Tirupati JEO (H&E) Smt. Gautami, CVSO Sri Sridhar, Municipal Commissioner Smt. Maurya, CE Sri Satyanarayana, and other senior officials, all of whom are actively coordinating preparations to ensure the event’s success.
