TTD to Set Up Sri Venkateswara Swamy Replica Temple at Maha Kumbh Mela

Tirumala: In a bid to propagate Hindu Sanatana Dharma, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is constructing a replica temple of Sri Venkateswara Swamy during the prestigious Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The temple initiative will be accompanied by a Kalyana Ratham, which will begin its journey from Tirumala with the divine blessings of Lord Srivaru on January 8 at 7:00 AM, announced TTD Executive Officer Sri J. Syamala Rao.

Speaking to the media at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Tuesday, the EO stated that the Maha Kumbh Mela, scheduled from January 13 to February 26, will host the replica temple on a sprawling 2.89-acre site at Sector 6, Bhajrang Das Road, Prayagraj, near the renowned Naga Vasuki Temple.

To provide Northern devotees a spiritual experience akin to Tirumala, TTD will organize daily rituals and festivities at the replica temple. These will include all traditional sevas, starting from Suprabhatam to Ekanta Seva, recreating the divine grandeur of Sri Venkateswara Swamy.

Additionally, Srivari Kalyanams (celestial weddings) will be performed on January 18, January 26, February 3, and February 12, allowing devotees to witness the sacred rituals.

A dedicated team of priests, Vedic scholars, and staff from various TTD departments will be deployed to oversee temple activities and ensure facilities for the large influx of devotees attending the Maha Kumbh Mela.

“This initiative not only serves as a spiritual offering but also strengthens the cultural and religious bonds of Tirumala with devotees across the nation,” said Sri J. Syamala Rao.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, will now also resonate with the divine presence of Sri Venkateswara Swamy, offering devotees a unique opportunity to partake in sacred rituals away from Tirumala.
