Hyderabad: The Regional Round (South) of the prestigious NTPC Electron Quiz was successfully conducted today in Hyderabad under the aegis of SRHQ, NTPC Ltd. The event saw enthusiastic participation from academic institutions across the Southern region, reaffirming NTPC’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and fostering knowledge-based engagement among the youth.
A total of 259 teams registered for the competition, which was conducted by eminent quizmaster Gautam Bose of Greycells Pvt. Ltd. The quiz featured intellectually stimulating rounds designed to assess analytical ability, awareness of current affairs, and scientific knowledge.
In his welcome address, S.N. Panigrahi, CGM (HR) – NR & South, greeted all participants and highlighted NTPC’s ongoing contribution to nation-building, sustainable development, and the empowerment of the younger generation through initiatives like the Electron Quiz.
The event began with a Preliminary Written Round, from which the top six teams advanced to the Grand Finale. In a keenly contested final, Nizam College, Hyderabad, emerged as the winner, followed by IIT Kanpur as the Runners-Up, and Vishwa Vishwani Institute securing the third position.
The winning team was awarded prizes worth ₹60,000, the Runners-Up received ₹40,000, and the Second Runners-Up received ₹20,000. Teams finishing 4th, 5th, and 6th were each awarded prizes worth ₹8,000.
With this victory, the top two teams—Nizam College and IIT Kanpur—have qualified for the National Semi-Finals to be held in New Delhi, where they will compete against leading institutions from across the country.
The Regional Round concluded on a high note, underscoring NTPC’s pivotal role in nurturing talent, innovation, and intellectual excellence among students.
