Hyderabad: The inaugural edition of the Sreenidhi University TG20 will commence on June 21 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, with organisers unveiling the full schedule and announcing popular actor Vijay Deverakonda as the brand ambassador of the tournament.
Modelled on the lines of the Indian Premier League, the Telangana-based franchise tournament will be officially known as Sreenidhi University TG20. The league stage will run until July 7, followed by the playoffs from July 9, while the final is scheduled for July 12.
The opening match, to be played under lights on June 21, will see Palamuru Strikers take on Anvita Khammam Aces.
The inaugural season will feature several prominent cricketers from Indian domestic cricket and the Telangana circuit. India pacer Mohammed Siraj will spearhead the Warangal Warriors, while India T20 vice-captain Tilak Varma and Ravi Teja will represent Medak Falcons.
Anurag Nalgonda Knights will field Rahul Buddhi and Rakshann Readdi, while Anvita Khammam Aces have signed CV Milind and Mickil Jaiswal. EIPL & Eleve Karimnagar Diamonds will rely on the experience of Tanmay Agarwal, and Rohit Rayudu will turn out for Palamuru Strikers. Ranga Reddy Risers will feature all-rounder Tanay Thyagarajan among their key players.
The tournament schedule includes several marquee encounters. One of the most anticipated matches will be between Mohammed Siraj’s Warangal Warriors and Tilak Varma-led Medak Falcons on June 22. Other notable fixtures include the Hyderabad derby between Hyderabad E-Champions and Ranga Reddy Risers on June 25, and the regional rivalry between Palamuru Strikers and Warangal Warriors on July 3.
Additional key matches include Anvita Khammam Aces taking on EIPL & Eleve Karimnagar Diamonds on June 26, Anurag Nalgonda Knights facing Medak Falcons on July 3, and Palamuru Strikers meeting Ranga Reddy Risers on June 27.
All matches will be broadcast live on Star Sports, Star Sports 2, Star Sports 2 Telugu and streamed on JioHotstar, ensuring extensive television and digital coverage across the country.
Speaking on the occasion, V. Agam Rao, Chairman of the TG20 Governing Council at the Hyderabad Cricket Association, said the schedule had been designed to sustain excitement throughout the season while ensuring a quality experience for teams, broadcasters, and fans.

“We have packed the calendar with marquee clashes, strong rivalries and prime-time fixtures. Having Vijay Deverakonda associated with the tournament adds another layer of excitement and visibility for the league,” he said.
Vijay Deverakonda said he was delighted to be associated with the inaugural season and described TG20 as an excellent platform for Telangana’s young cricketers to showcase their talent.
The opening ceremony will be held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium at 5.30 pm on June 21 and will feature a live performance by National Award-winning music composer Thaman S, among other attractions.
Organisers said the tournament, featuring double-headers, day-night matches and a blend of experienced and emerging players, aims to provide a significant platform for Telangana cricket while offering a world-class entertainment experience for fans.
Tickets for the inaugural season will be available on District by Zomato from June 17.
