Hyderabad, September 6: The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) will conduct the Under-19 Women’s T20 Selection League for the 2026–27 season from September 8, with 24 teams taking part in the league phase.
The 24 teams, designated Under-19 Teams A to X, comprise 13 to 14 players each and include players from Hyderabad and various districts of Telangana. The selection league has been designed to provide competitive match exposure to the young cricketers while enabling the selectors to identify the best available talent for the state team.
The league stage will be held from September 8 to 11 at six grounds in Keesara. Each of the 24 teams will play three matches during this phase, following which the top-performing players will be shortlisted for the Super League.

The Super League is scheduled from September 14 to 16 and will feature eight teams divided into two pools of four teams each. Performances in the Super League will form the basis for further selection, with the top 26 players to be shortlisted on September 17.
A final selection match is scheduled for September 18, after which the HCA plans to announce the Telangana Under-19 Women’s state squad along with five standbys by September 19. The selected players will report for the state team camp from September 20.
The HCA Selection Committee has already circulated the approved 24-team list, including the respective player groups and designated captains. The selection process is aimed at identifying a balanced squad capable of representing Telangana in the forthcoming Under-19 women’s competitions.
With the selection league spread across multiple venues and involving 24 teams, the HCA expects the exercise to provide selectors with a broad platform to assess emerging women cricketers from Hyderabad and across Telangana.
