Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg and Red Hot Chili Peppers perform at closing ceremony

Paris: The Paris Olympics concluded with a dazzling closing ceremony featuring an impressive lineup of stars, including Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. This all-star performance was part of the symbolic handover to the 2028 Los Angeles Games. Each of these artists, along with H.E.R., who performed the U.S. national anthem live at the Stade de France, hails from California.

“This marks the most significant moment in LA28 history so far, as the Olympic flag transitions from Paris to Los Angeles,” said LA28 chairperson Casey Wasserman in a statement. “We are excited to showcase the very best of Los Angeles with these incredible local artists. We are deeply grateful to Billie, H.E.R., the Chili Peppers, and Snoop for their collaboration in delivering what promises to be an unforgettable show for a global audience, offering a glimpse of the excitement awaiting in 2028.”

The closing ceremony also featured Lady Gaga and the triumphant return of Celine Dion to the stage, overcoming her career-threatening stiff person syndrome diagnosis.

Los Angeles will host the Olympics for the third time, following previous Games in 1984 and 1932. Additionally, it will mark the city’s first time hosting the Paralympics.
