Thiruvananthapuram: The Keralam government has sanctioned Rs 2 lakh for Onam celebrations for children staying at childcare centres under the state Women and Child Development Department, officials said on Tuesday.
The special allocation will facilitate Onam celebrations for children who remain at the care centres during the festival days, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said in a statement.
Announced alongside welfare measures for the festive season, including welfare pension distributions. Children in state-run women and child welfare protection and care homes will also benefit. To facilitate festive Onam meals, events, and joyful activities for the children.
