Hare Krishna Movement Celebrates Grand Ratha Yatra in Kokapet

Hyderabad:  The city witnessed a grand celebration of spirituality, cultural heritage, and community unity as the Hare Krishna Movement hosted the magnificent “Sri Radha Govinda Ratha Yatra” in Kokapet on Saturday.

The highlight of the event was the majestic chariot carrying the beautifully adorned Deities of Sri Radha Govinda, pulled with devotion by hundreds of participants. The vibrant procession, accompanied by enchanting Sankirtans and generous distribution of prasadam, brought together people from diverse backgrounds in a spirit of harmony and devotion.

Starting at the Sri Krishna Goseva Mandal Goshala near Gandipet Main Road, the procession passed through key localities, including Kokapet “X” Road, Allu Studios, 7 Hills Gated Community, Rajapushpa Atria, and Golden Mile Road, before culminating at the Hare Krishna Heritage Tower project site.

The opulent chariot, a blend of traditional design and modern engineering, featured intricate decorations, vibrant lights, air brakes, and advanced steering for seamless maneuverability. A robust rope system allowed up to 500 participants to pull in unison, symbolizing collective community effort. Safety measures, including a dedicated wheel protection team and a sound communication system, ensured smooth and disciplined progress.

The event began with an inaugural Puja, Prathama Arathi, and the traditional brooming ceremony, attended by dignitaries. His Holiness Sri Stoka Krishna Maharaj, President of Hare Krishna Movement Chennai, and His Grace Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhuji, President of Hare Krishna Movement Hyderabad, inaugurated the Ratha Yatra with blessings.

The Sri Radha Govinda Deities bestowed darshan on devotees throughout the procession, spreading a sense of divine joy and unity across Kokapet.
