Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has announced that it will conduct an Umpires Examination for the 2027–28 season during January/February 2027, inviting applications from eligible candidates across Telangana.
According to the notification issued by the HCA, the examination is aimed at identifying and developing umpires with the requisite cricketing and officiating experience for domestic competitions. The association has laid down specific eligibility criteria for candidates seeking to appear for the examination.
Current HCA panel umpires are eligible to apply. Candidates who have a minimum of three years’ experience in umpiring local, private or corporate cricket can also submit their applications. In addition, players who have represented teams in BCCI matches and those who have played in the HCA Top League for at least three years are eligible to apply.
The HCA has specified that only candidates residing in Telangana will be eligible for the examination.
Eligible candidates have been asked to complete their registration and submit their applications by December 15, 2026. Applicants are required to submit a duly filled resume in the prescribed HCA format. The association has made it clear that resumes must be typed or digitally filled and handwritten applications will not be accepted.
The completed applications are to be submitted to the Inward Section at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium (RGICS) on or before the stipulated deadline.
The prescribed resume format can be downloaded from the HCA’s official websites, hycricket.org and hycricket.in. Candidates have been advised to furnish complete and accurate information relating to their personal, educational and professional backgrounds, besides details of their cricketing and umpiring experience.
Applicants will also be required to indicate their preferred language for the examination in the prescribed format.
The HCA has urged all eligible candidates interested in pursuing umpiring as a career or strengthening their association with the game’s officiating structure to submit their applications within the prescribed deadline.
The detailed examination schedule and other relevant instructions are expected to be communicated by the association to eligible candidates subsequently.
