HCA Gets BCCI Nod for TG20 League

HCA-Jeevan Reddy

Hyderabad: In a significant development, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has received approval from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to conduct the proposed TG20 league as scheduled.

HCA Secretary Jeevan Reddy informed affiliated club secretaries through an official communication on the association’s group, stating that the much-anticipated tournament has secured the BCCI’s nod.

The development comes close on the heels of the TG20 league’s logo launch last week, which was held with considerable fanfare at a star hotel in the city. The event witnessed the presence of several prominent personalities, including Tollywood actor Venkatesh, a well-known cricket enthusiast frequently seen at IPL matches and industry exhibition games.

With the BCCI’s clearance now in place, the path appears clear for the HCA to proceed with the tournament, despite earlier murmurs and opposition from certain unrecognised quarters.

When contacted, Jeevan Reddy confirmed to this correspondent via WhatsApp that the association had indeed received formal approval from the BCCI.
