Imphal: Security forces arrested 10 cadres of the banned Prepak (RA) near the India-Myanmar border in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district, a police statement said on Tuesday.
There are five minors among the arrested militants, it said.
They were apprehended from an area between the border pillars 77 and 82 under the Moreh Police Station limits, the statement said.
According to police reports, the arrested individuals are affiliated with the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), and the Kangleipak Communist Party (MFL).
In a separate operation, security forces recovered explosives and small arms from the Boljang hill area of the district.
The police reported that the confiscated items included eight IEDs, a pistol, a magazine for the pistol, a mortar, two radio sets, and nine cartridges.
Authorities stated that the seized IEDs were destroyed on-site following safety protocols and standard operating procedures.

In light of recent activities along the India-Myanmar border, security forces are on high alert. The arrests of militants and the recovery of weapons are viewed as a significant victory for the security apparatus, aiding in the prevention of potential violent incidents in the region.
