New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday said she was saddened due to the loss of lives in a boat accident in Vietnam and offered deep condolences to the grieving families.
Fifteen Indian tourists were killed in the accident on Saturday.
The speedboat was carrying 32 Indian tourists and four crew members.
It capsized about 400 metres off Hon May Rut Ngoai, an island in the An Thoi archipelago off the coast of Phu Quoc, Vietnamese news portal VN Express International reported.
“Saddened by the news of a boat accident in Vietnam in which many Indian nationals lost their lives. My deep condolences to the grieving families. I pray for speedy recovery of the injured,” Murmu said in a post on X.
