Washington: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio virtually addressed a conference of American ambassadors from South and Central Asia in New Delhi.
The Ambassadors Regional Conference was hosted in New Delhi on Tuesday by US envoy to India Sergio Gor.
“Earlier today, I called into our Ambassadors Regional Conference in India, hosted by Ambassador Sergio Gor,” Rubio said in a post on X.
American envoys and Chiefs of Mission from 11 nations across the South and Central Asian Affairs (SCA) bureau, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
To review regional priorities, diplomatic engagement, and coordinate strategic, economic, and security cooperation across South and Central Asia.
US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor said, “Great to have all our SCA Ambassadors in India.”
US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T Christensen travelled to New Delhi to attend the conference.
The Bureau of South and Central Asian (SCA) Affairs oversees US foreign policy and US relations with the countries of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
