Mumbai, September 18: The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) on Friday confirmed that its Honorary Secretary, M. Jeevan Reddy, attended the 95th Annual General Meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) held at its headquarters in Mumbai.
Jeevan Reddy’s participation came amid reports that the HCA’s representation had initially faced objections from the Electoral Officer, raising questions over whether the Association would be allowed to participate in the AGM, particularly in matters involving voting rights.
The HCA Secretary later attended the meeting, though the circumstances surrounding the status of the Association’s voting representation remained a subject of discussion.
The HCA, one of the BCCI’s founder associations, has been associated with Indian cricket since 1934 and has made a significant contribution to the game, producing internationals such as M. L. Jaisimha, Mohammad Azharuddin, Shivlal Yadav and V. V. S. Laxman. Hyderabad has also won the Ranji Trophy twice, in 1937-38 and 1986-87.
The HCA’s participation at the AGM ensured its presence at the BCCI’s annual governing meeting, even as questions over its representation and voting status continue to attract attention.
