15 people killed, 50 others injured in a bomb blast in Pakistan

Islamabad: At least 15 people were killed (unofficial claims 33) and injured in a suicide bomb attack near a mosque in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today.

An explosives-laden vehicle rammed into the gate of the Old Police Lines, triggering a powerful explosion and subsequent gunfire.

The outer section of the nearby mosque suffered severe damage, and a boundary wall collapsed from the impact.

Several police and security personnel were among the injured.

Emergency services declared a state of emergency at local hospitals, and rescue operations remain underway at the site.

The blast severely damaged the mosque’s outer section and caused a wall to collapse. Security personnel were rushed to the area while rescue teams continued operations at the site.
