Bumrah proves to be too hot for LSG, helps MI win by 54 runs

Mumbai: India’s pace ace Jasprit Bumrah proved to be too good for the Lucknow Super Giants, whose four-wicket haul ensured that Mumbai Indians bowled out Rishabh Pant’s team for 161 in Match 45 of the Indian Premier League, helping the Mumbai Indians win by 54 runs here on Sunday.

Bumrah, who racked up figures of 4/22 in his 4 overs, was supported by Corbin Bosch (1/25 in 4 overs), Trent Boult (3/20 in 4 overs) and Will Jacks (2/18 in 2). Together, they made sure LSG was never in the chase.

Mitch Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, and David Miller did get starts that threatened to chase the target, but they were unable to build on them.

With this win, MI get into the playoff spots, sitting at 4th with 12 points.
