Rahul Gandhi’s habit of making bizarre, baseless, and misleading statements has once again backfired—this time in the Lok Sabha. His latest attempt to mislead the nation about India’s diplomatic dealings was swiftly dismantled by none other than External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, one of the country’s most seasoned diplomats. Jaishankar exposed Gandhi’s outright falsehood regarding his December 2024 visit to the U.S., clarifying that he met Biden administration officials, not to seek an invitation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as alleged by Rahul. Jaishankar’s statement was not just a factual rebuttal but a much-needed wake-up call: Rahul Gandhi’s habitual lying is not just political theatre; it damages India’s reputation abroad. In the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Modi and BJP MPs, led by Kiren Rijiju, rightly objected to Rahul’s unfounded claims. This is not the first time Congress has attempted to distort facts to serve its own agenda, but what is truly astonishing is its audacity in questioning India’s territorial integrity while conveniently hiding its own dealings with China. For years, Congress has peddled the narrative that China has encroached upon Indian territory, ignoring the undeniable reality that Indian soldiers have repeatedly repelled PLA aggression. The 2017 Doklam standoff saw Indian troops physically push back Chinese intruders, inflicting greater casualties on their side. The same happened in Arunachal Pradesh. Yet, Rahul Gandhi continues to undermine the armed forces by parroting Chinese propaganda, conveniently ignoring the fact that not an inch of Indian land has been ceded. If he and his party have evidence to the contrary, they should present it rather than maligning India’s military and government.
However, what Congress must be truly held accountable for is its secretive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), signed in 2008 by Rahul Gandhi in the presence of Sonia Gandhi. What exactly did the Congress agree to in this deal with China’s ruling party? Why has this document never been disclosed to the public? The question is critical: was this agreement designed to keep India weak, militarily and strategically? Was it part of a larger scheme that saw the UPA government deliberately delaying defense acquisitions, including the much-needed Rafale fighter jets? It is no secret that during Dr. Manmohan Singh’s tenure, India’s defense preparedness suffered. His government, with A.K. Antony as Defense Minister, shockingly claimed that India had no funds to build crucial border infrastructure in Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Who benefited from this neglect? Certainly not India. Was this neglect a direct result of the Congress-CCP agreement? The nation deserves an answer. The Congress party cannot continue to dodge these questions. It must release the MoU and clarify the nature of its relationship with the CCP. If the Congress has nothing to hide, why the secrecy? Until it does, every accusation it levels against the Modi government will reek of hypocrisy. Moreover, if the BJP-led NDA government is truly committed to the national interest, it must not just use this MoU as a political weapon—it must order a judicial probe by a sitting Supreme Court judge. If the Modi government fails to do so, its own credibility will be questioned. Rahul Gandhi’s lies were rightly exposed regarding Trump’s inauguration. Now, it’s time to expose the bigger truth: What did Congress agree to with China? The nation demands an answer.
