Kolkata: The West Bengal government will bring out department-wise white papers detailing alleged irregularities, unfinished projects, and financial mismanagement under the previous TMC dispensation, Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta announced in the Assembly on Thursday.
Replying to the discussion on the state budget, Dasgupta said the government has decided to place before the public details of the circumstances that led to the state’s debt burden and the reasons behind delays in several projects.
“We are considering bringing out white papers department by department. The finance department will explain how such mismanagement led to the huge debt burden. Other departments will explain why projects remained incomplete and why certain situations arose,” he said.
