Ranga Reddy: The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) Women’s Cricket League–2026 has concluded its Phase-I at TKR College of Engineering, here, with the tournament providing valuable exposure to a promising pool of emerging women cricketers.
The concluding programme was attended by former Greater Hyderabad Mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy, who distributed prizes and medals to the outstanding performers in the presence of TCA General Secretary Dharam Guruva Reddy and Treasurer T. Harinath Reddy. The league featured Rose Flamingos, Golden Eagles, Royal Falcons, Phoenix Risers and Purple Peacocks, with the teams producing competitive cricket and allowing young players to perform in a structured league environment.
The TCA Selection Committee, which closely monitored the matches, has identified several promising players during the tournament. The performances are expected to provide a broader talent base for the association as it works towards strengthening its junior and senior women’s teams.
In the third match of Phase-I, Rose Flamingos defeated Golden Eagles by 20 runs. Rose Flamingos posted 130 for seven in 20 overs, with Sri Charita scoring 22, before restricting Golden Eagles to 110 for eight. Meesha Sharon Jacob top-scored with 32, and Rathlavath Swathi made 30, while D. Sarika and Paavana Aaryaki claimed three wickets each. Aaryaki was named Player of the Match.
Royal Falcons then registered a 19-run victory over Phoenix Risers in a 12-over contest. Royal Falcons scored 85 for five, with Sunnam Tushara Rekha remaining unbeaten on 17, before restricting Phoenix Risers to 66 for six. G. Mohana Sri made 19 for the Risers, while Anusha J returned impressive figures of three for 17 to earn the Player of the Match award.
Phoenix Risers bounced back in the next match, chasing down Royal Falcons’ 132 for four in 18.5 overs. Darawath Yashaswini’s 42 and Punari Punakshi Pawar’s 30 helped Phoenix Risers reach 136 for five and win by five wickets. Yashaswini was named Player of the Match.
In the concluding fixture, Purple Peacocks defeated Rose Flamingos by 25 runs. Purple Peacocks scored 101 for three in 12 overs, with Srighna Vanamala making 37 and Siri Rayapuri 24, before restricting Rose Flamingos to 76 for seven. Rathlavath Swathi was adjudged Player of the Match.
The Phase-I league has thus provided TCA with a useful platform to identify and nurture the next generation of women cricketers from Telangana.
