A blockbuster India vs. Pakistan encounter awaits us in the Asian Games final match in Nisshin on Saturday morning.
India will be aiming to defend the men’s cricket title they won previously, while Pakistan will be appearing in a men’s cricket final at the Asian Games for the first time.
India reached the title decider with an emphatic 124-run victory over Sri Lanka in the semifinal. After being asked to bat, Shreyas Iyer’s team made 169/7 in 20 overs, and the bowlers then dismissed Sri Lanka for only 45, with Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel and Abhishek Sharma taking two wickets each.
Pakistan, by contrast, were involved in a rain-affected semifinal against Bangladesh, which they won by six wickets. Rain has therefore already played a part in this tournament, and attention has turned once again to the conditions in Nisshin.
The hourly forecast for the day suggests mild and fairly steady temperatures, ranging from 21°C to 24°C throughout. The match is due to start at 1:30 PM local time, when the temperature is expected to be 24°C with an 18 percent chance of rain.
