Los Angeles: Actor Stephen McKinley Henderson is set to feature in “Anglers”.
Henderson has been in projects such as “Lincoln”, “Dune”, “Fences”, “Civil War” and the television show “The Newsroom”, among others.
The film is directed by Zoe Simone and will feature the actor alongside Ra’Mya Latiah Aikens, Bella Samman, Raffi Manjikian, Beau Karnsrithong, Justin Lee Dudo and Gregg Kearns, according to the entertainment news outlet Deadline.
In the film, shooting in Simone’s hometown of Houston, TX in December, Henderson plays a larger-than-life man in the twilight of his career seeking justice against three internet crusaders after an online sting operation goes too far.
Joining Henderson in the ensemble are Ra’Mya Latiah Aikens (Netflix’s Myron Bolitar), Bella Samman (Walker), Raffi Manjikian, Beau Karnsrithong, Justin Lee Dudo, and Gregg Kearns.
Jamund Washington and Kelley Robins Hicks, collaborators on the Peabody Award-winning HBO series Random Acts of Flyness and Nana Mensah’s Tribeca prize winner Queen of Glory, are producing alongside Jake Weiner of Harvest Hill Entertainment, whose recent credits include Neon’s upcoming They Follow and Warner Bros.’ The End of Oak Street, both from filmmaker David Robert Mitchell.
A multiple Tony Award nominee — for the shows Fences and Between Riverside and Crazy — Henderson’s other screen credits include Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird, Kenneth Lonergan’s Manchester by the Sea, Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, Apple TV’s Devs and Netflix’s A Man on the Inside opposite Ted Danson, to name just a few.
