Hyderabad: The total crimes against women increased by 4 per cent in Rachakonda Police Commissionerate limits here this year when compared to 2024, though the major grave offences saw a downward trend of 25 per cent, a senior police official said on Monday.
As many as 479 kidnapping cases were recorded during this year, up from 233 last year, while as many as 809 molestation cases were registered, as against 561. Similarly, 516 POCSO cases were registered this year as against 392 last year.
However, there is a reduction of 25 per cent in the cases including rape, women murder, harassment/domestic violence, and dowry death with 1,194 cases in 2025 as against 1,704 last year, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu told reporters.
Other crimes such as dowry murder, dowry deaths, abetment to suicide, harassment, domestic violence, women murder, rape have seen a reduction of 25 percent, as per the report.
Rachakonda Police Commissioner G Sridhar Babu, in a press conference,e said that about a total of 26,852 cases were reported, out of which 21,056 cases were disposed. Meanwhile, property crimes were down in 2025 due to quick responses, visible policing and arrest of potential offenders, he said.
As per official figures, the total number of accidents has gone up from 3,207 cases in 2024 to 3,488 cases in 2025. The total number of accidents on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) has gone up from 52 in 2024 to 76 in 2025.
Rachakonda Police reportedly secured 31 life convictions against 55 accused and secured 20-year imprisonment convictions in 12 cases.
About 1,512 investment fraud cases were recorded, while 1,215 cases were about part-time job fraud. Unauthorised transactions, APK file frauds, job fraud, fake customer care fraud, loan fraud, business fraud, digital arrests, and matrimonial frauds formed other cybercrimes. Overall, 3,734 cases of cybercrime were recorded in 2025 and 6,188 cases of preventive arrests.
