Press ‘lotus’ button to prevent return of RJD’s ‘jungle raj’ in Bihar: Amit Shah at Darbhanga rally

Darbharnga (Bihar): Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday urged voters in Bihar to press the EVM button with the BJP’s poll symbol lotus to prevent the return of ‘jungle raj’ during the RJD rule that had “devastated” the state.

He promised that if the NDA returns to power, the government will spend Rs 26,000 crore to harness Koshi water for irrigation and to prevent floods.

“Press ‘lotus’ button to prevent return of ‘jungle raj’ that devastated Bihar during the Lalu-Rabri’s 15-year rule,” Shah alleged, addressing a poll rally at Darbhanga.

The Home Minister will hold three public meetings today — in Darbhanga, Motihari, and Bettiah — in support of NDA candidates. On Monday, he addressed rallies in Sitamarhi and Madhubani, where he intensified attacks on the opposition.

In his earlier speeches, Shah accused the RJD of institutionalizing crime in Bihar. “Lalu and Rabri established industries of kidnapping, loot, ransom, and murder. If the RJD forms the government again, those ministries will reopen,” he said. “We must vote to keep Bihar free from Jungle Raj.”

Continuing his pitch to Hindu voters, Shah said the Congress and RJD “opposed the Ram Temple,” while the Modi government “fulfilled the centuries-old promise of a grand temple in Ayodhya.” He also announced that a direct train from Sitamarhi to Ayodhya would soon begin operations and that the NDA plans to build a grand temple for Sita as part of a cultural corridor.

After his rallies, Shah visited Mithila Haat in Madhubani, where he dined on traditional Bihari cuisine served on a brass thali. His dinner included Dal-Baati-Chokha, Malpua, Thekua, Dahi Bhalla, and Makhan Bhog, alongside the famous Sachar Thali of 36 Mithila dishes.
