Will bring Act to ensure every family in Bihar has a member with govt job: Tejashwi

Patna: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday promised that if the INDIA bloc helmed by his party came to power in Bihar, it would “bring an Act” to ensure every family in the state had a member with a government job.

The opposition leader said the proposed Act will be brought “within 20 days of formation of the new government”.

“The NDA could not provide jobs to the youth in 20 years. We will bring the Act within 20 days of coming to power, and implementation will be ensured in 20 months”, said the former deputy chief minister at a press conference here.

The former deputy chief minister further said, “I had promised government jobs in the last assembly polls as well. During the brief period I was in power, five lakh jobs were provided. You can imagine what could be possible had I gotten a five-year term.”

This comes just days after the Election Commission of India announced the poll dates for the Bihar Assembly election, with the voting set to take place in two phases – November 6 and 11. Counting of votes will take place on November 14, said the ECI.

Tejashwi Yadav is likely to be the Chief Ministerial candidate for the INDIA bloc, but the opposition remains mired in indecision over its CM face.

Congress leader Udit Raj reignited the uncertainty on Tuesday, stating, “He may be the chief ministerial face for the RJD… but the INDIA bloc’s chief ministerial face will be decided collectively.”

The Congress leader, while speaking to PTI, further said, “Look, any supporter of any party can do that (name that party’s leader a Chief Minister)… but the INDIA bloc’s candidate has not been decided. Let us see what the Congress HQ decides.”
