Subash Slams TPCC’s Jagga Reddy for ‘Brahmin’ Certification of Rahul Gandhi

Hyderabad: BJP Telangana spokesperson NV Subash on Monday strongly criticized TPCC Working President Jagga Reddy for his remarks certifying Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as a ‘Brahmin.’

Questioning the legitimacy of such a claim, Subash pointed out that Rahul Gandhi’s father, Rajiv Gandhi, was the son of Feroze Gandhi, a Parsi, and his mother, Sonia Gandhi, is an Italian-born Catholic. “How can Rahul Gandhi be a Brahmin when his lineage does not align with the community’s traditions?” he asked.

Subash took exception to Jagga Reddy’s justification, which traced Rahul Gandhi’s ancestry back to Motilal Nehru and Jawaharlal Nehru, both Brahmins. “Does Rahul Gandhi exhibit any qualities of a Brahmin? Has he ever performed a ‘Surya Namaskar’ or chanted the Gayatri Mantra?” Subash questioned, calling the Congress leader’s claims hypocritical, especially when Rahul frequently invokes the Constitution while engaging in caste-based politics.

The BJP leader also dismissed Congress’s assertion that the Gandhi family played a key role in making PV Narasimha Rao the Prime Minister. “When did the Congress party ever respect PV Narasimha Rao, a renowned linguist and architect of India’s economic reforms? Was it not Sonia Gandhi who denied him a dignified farewell by refusing to allow his mortal remains in the party headquarters?” Subash, a grandson of PV Narasimha Rao, remarked.

He further criticized Congress for misleading the people of Telangana ahead of local body elections, stating that the party’s focus remains on divisive politics rather than national progress. In contrast, he reaffirmed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, highlighting his commitment to India’s growth and global recognition.
