Ananth Technologies Powers Critical Avionics Systems for GSLV-F17, EOS-05

Hyderabad: Ananth Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (ATL) has made significant contributions to India’s space programme through the supply of critical avionics, electronics and spacecraft subsystems for the GSLV-F17 launch vehicle and the EOS-05 (GISAT-1A) Earth observation spacecraft.

The Hyderabad-headquartered company supplied 28 avionics packages for the GSLV-F17 launch vehicle, covering critical functions such as power management, stage processing and command execution, communication bus extension, reaction control, telemetry, data acquisition and level sensing.

Says Dr Subba Rao Pavuluri, Chairman, Ananth Technologies: “These flight-hardware packages support vital operations across the different stages of the launch vehicle.”

As part of its contribution to GSLV-F17, he said ATL also undertook the integration and checkout of all four L-40 nose-cone decks and the harnessing of the complete GS2 stage. The company additionally carried out testing and evaluation of the Navigation, Guidance and Control (NGC) and Control Electronics packages for the mission.

“The work highlights ATL’s capabilities spanning avionics manufacturing, system integration, testing and qualification for complex space missions,” he said.

15 systems for EOS-05

As a matter of fact, ATL had also supplied 15 systems for EOS-05 (GISAT-1A), an Earth observation spacecraft designed to provide persistent observation of the Indian landmass and surrounding waters from geosynchronous orbit.

The spacecraft is designed to provide full-disc imaging at 30-minute intervals and rapid targeted imaging of priority areas at five-minute intervals. Equipped with a 700-mm telescope and VNIR and SWIR spectral bands, EOS-05 is intended to support applications including disaster monitoring, agriculture, forestry and environmental monitoring, besides strategic observation requirements.

According to him, the ATL’s contribution to the spacecraft includes 10 critical power-management packages, comprising different types of 60-W DC-DC converters and relay packages. The company has also supplied two On-Board Computer (OBC) packages and three Mark-3 Star Sensor packages, comprising Camera Head Units and an Attitude Processing Unit.

These systems perform critical spacecraft functions involving power conversion and distribution, onboard computing and attitude determination.

Commenting on the mission, Dr. Subba Rao Pavuluri, said the company was honoured to contribute critical avionics and spacecraft systems to the GSLV-F17 and EOS-05 missions.

“Our involvement across launch vehicle electronics, stage integration and testing, as well as power, onboard computing and attitude sensor systems for the spacecraft, reflects our growing end-to-end capabilities in the Indian space ecosystem,” he said.

“We remain committed to supporting Indian space programmes with reliable, indigenous technologies and to strengthening India’s capabilities in advanced space systems,” Dr. Pavuluri added.
