Hyderabad: The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA), expressing confidence about securing Membership of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has formally announced its 2026 27 domestic cricket season across the State. The association also released its comprehensive domestic calendar, under which as many as 210 Inter Districts league matches will be conducted across 3 age groups beginning next month.
Announcing the 13the season domestic (Inter Districts) League programme, TCA General Secretary Dharam Guruva Reddy said the extensive league season has been planned with the objective of identifying talented cricketers across Telangana and preparing competitive teams at various levels. “The league championship will determine the zonal teams in three men’s age-group categories and help identify the pool of State probables.
The TCA is confident of securing BCCI Membership, which would enable Telangana to participate in the Ranji Trophy and other BCCI domestic tournaments,” Guruva Reddy said in an official press note. He said the overwhelming response and growing enthusiasm among aspiring cricketers across the State had encouraged the association to further strengthen its domestic structure.
“In addition to the men’s competitions, the TCA will also conduct selection programmes to shortlist senior and junior women’s State teams, providing equal opportunities for women cricketers to showcase their talent,” he said. Page 2 of 2 Guruva Reddy further announced that the association has finalised plans to organise a two-phase Inter-Zonal Multi-Day Championship, with Telangana divided into five cricketing zones.
The inter-district (state-level) leagues are intended to provide longer-format match exposure to promising players and facilitate the selection of the best talent for higher-level competitions. He said the domestic calendar has been carefully structured to ensure adequate match exposure across age groups while strengthening the cricketing ecosystem in Telangana.
