Beijing:  The Indian Consulate in Shanghai is conducting a month-long special campaign to prioritise timely resolution of the diaspora’s consular issues in its jurisdiction.

“CGI, Shanghai is actively executing the month-long Special Campaign 6.0 implementation phase, which is integrated with the #SwachtaHiSeva 2026 campaign”, a post on X said on Sunday.

As part of this service outreach meant to cut red tape and prioritise timely resolution, Consul General Pratik Mathur led “a large-scale consular services #SevaShivir in Shaoxing county of Keqiao district of Zhejiang province”, the post said.

This service drive is part of the implementation phase of “Special Campaign 6.0,” which has been closely integrated with the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign.

The core objective of the month-long initiative is to streamline processes, eliminate bureaucratic delays, and prioritize swift support for resident overseas Indians.

As part of the campaign, Consul General Pratik Mathur led a large-scale, doorstep consular services camp (Seva Shivir) in Shaoxing County within the Keqiao District of Zhejiang Province.

The selection of Keqiao holds specific significance as it is colloquially known as “Little India” in mainland China. The district plays host to a highly vibrant community of Indian citizens, including students, traders, and entrepreneurs.

Beyond handling critical documentation (such as passports, civil attestations, and registrations), the campaign celebrated the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, acknowledging the diaspora’s local social contributions like massive blood donation drives.
