HCA Domestic Cricket: Batters, Bowlers Shine on Opening Day

Hyderabad: Several impressive batting and bowling performances marked the opening day of the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s (HCA) domestic competitions for the 2026-27 season, with the Senior Men’s Multi-day Super League, U-23 Emerging Multi-day Tournament, U-19 One-Day Super League and U-16 Boys Inter-Schools & Colleges Knockout Tournament producing some notable individual displays.

In the Senior Men’s Multi-day Super League, Team B were bowled out for 92 in 30.5 overs against Team D, with Harshit Chowdhary top-scoring with 30. C Advaith Reddy was the chief destroyer with a five-wicket haul, returning 5/25 in 9.5 overs, while Rakhshann Readdi claimed 3/27. Team D reached 173/5 in 52 overs, with Pranav Suryadevara making 42 and Jai Ram and Shrey Singh contributing 37 each. Ganesh Gadugu was unbeaten on 36.

Team C posted 223/7 in 71.5 overs against Team A. Nihaal Reddy led the scoring with 53, while SM Hussain made 36, Kartikeya Kak 34 and Miryala Pratyush 31. Yash Satwalekar remained unbeaten on 34. Syed Ghazi Abbas took 3/58.

Team E were dismissed for 167 in 37.1 overs against Team H, with C Siddharth Rao making 51 and Rahul Buddhi 42. Shanmukha Ashwin returned an impressive 3/11, while Urvesh Kakkad took 4/54. Team H reached 235/4 in 45 overs, led by an unbeaten 79 from Mickil Jaiswal and 46 from Chandan Sahani.

Team F made 224/9 in 59 overs against Team G, with Aman Rao unbeaten on 79. Alankrith Rapole contributed 36, A Varun Goud 37 and Chirag Yadav 31. Saqlain Arafat was the pick of the bowlers with 5/47 in 14 overs, while Divesh Singh claimed 3/45.

In the Men’s U-23 Emerging Multi-day Tournament, Team C scored 220 all out in 63.3 overs against Team A. Sheshi Kumar Yadav struck 70, while M Koushik Reddy made 52 and Anirudh Srivathsan 44. M S Karthikeya took 3/54 and Vivek Singh 4/57. Team A finished the day on 142/5 in 26 overs, with C Srinath Yadav unbeaten on 80 and M S Karthikeya contributing 33.

The Bengal Men’s U-19 team’s tour of Hyderabad produced a closely fought encounter. Bengal were dismissed for 128 in 27.1 overs, with Ankit Chatterjee making 35. Rohan Boppana claimed an excellent 5/28 in six overs. Hyderabad reached 129/8 in 36 overs to win the match, with Arhaan Satwalkar unbeaten on 47. Dhanvin Nimavat took 4/19 for Bengal.

The HCA Men’s U-19 One-Day Super League also witnessed some outstanding batting. Team D chased down Team E’s 261 in 46 overs, finishing on 263/8. P Charan Tej anchored the successful chase with an unbeaten 100 off 94 balls, including 11 fours and a six.

Team A defeated Team C by five wickets after chasing 258/9. S Guru Vidhwan remained unbeaten on 104 off 132 balls, with 12 fours, while P Advaith Reddy made 42. Team F also recorded a successful chase, reaching 240/4 in 37.4 overs after Team B had made 237/7. K Sai Nehal scored 78, Jaydev 68 and Sai Devesh Jabaki 59.

The HCA C Division One-Day League Championship saw Manikumar post 178/7 in 35 overs against Anu Cricket Club before rain forced the match to be stopped without a result. Adams XI defeated Shalimar CC by three wickets, while Panduranga Pai Memorial beat Navjeevan Friends by nine wickets.

The U-16 Boys Inter-Schools & Colleges Knockout Tournament witnessed several remarkable performances. Medak District-2 amassed a huge 466/3 in 50 overs against Zenas High School, with Sai Harshith Undralla smashing 185 off 120 balls, including 26 fours and a six, while C Vikshith Reddy scored 138 off 120 balls with 20 fours. Samudrala Varshith then claimed 5/3 as Zenas were bowled out for 50.

Delhi Public School, Mahendra Hills also registered a commanding win, scoring 249 before dismissing Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan’s Atmakuri School for 46. B Sai Maurya struck 112 off 103 balls, while Katam Sreeshan took 7/20.

Medak District-1 defeated Tatva Global School after scoring 367/9, with Md Rehmath hammering 138 off just 80 balls. Advaith Reddy claimed 6/39 for Tatva Global School.

Warangal District-1 scored 250 before bowling out Mount Litera Zee School, Manikonda for 72, while Warangal District-2 defeated Delhi World School, Beeramguda after bowling them out for 40.

Other notable results included victories for Walkertown School, Nizamabad District-2, Loyola Academy Junior College, Scholars Academy, Resonance Junior College, Nalgonda District-2, ARCA Global International School, St Peter’s Model School, Pallavi Model School, Silver Oaks International School, Academic Heights Public School, Chirec International School, Nalgonda District-1, Nizamabad District-1, St Marks Boys Town High School and Delhi Public School, Nacharam.

The opening day thus produced a strong mix of high-scoring batting performances, impressive bowling spells and closely contested matches across the HCA’s senior, emerging and school-level competitions.
