Hyderabad: The Telangana BJP on Monday strongly rebutted allegations of “vote chori” levelled by TPCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud, calling them baseless, irresponsible, and a desperate attempt to mask the Congress party’s failures.
State Chief Spokesperson and Media In-Charge N.V. Subash said Mr. Goud’s personal attack on Union Minister and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar was not only reckless but also revealed the Congress leader’s frustration and insecurity.
“When did Mahesh Goud suddenly realize that Bandi Sanjay is not from a Backward Class? He conveniently questions his rise from councillor to MP but forgets that it is the people’s mandate that brought him to Parliament, not bogus votes,” Subash said.
He reminded the Congress leader that the Supreme Court had already upheld the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision of the voter list as a legitimate process to remove bogus entries. “Rahul Gandhi and his state lieutenants are crying foul only to create suspicion among people. When Congress wins, the EC is good; when it loses, the EC is bad. What kind of hypocrisy is this?” Subash asked.
The BJP Chief Spokesperson said the Congress party, despite winning in three states and forming coalitions in a few others, has already lost people’s trust. “In Telangana too, the Congress government has failed to deliver on tall promises and is now facing public anger. To divert attention, it is spinning fake narratives of vote fraud, with the backing of external forces like America’s deep state. The people of India know well about such toolkit politics,” he said.
Citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong leadership, Subash said India today stands as an economic and military power, unwilling to bow to any so-called superpower. “This was visible in the swift response of Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam terror attack. Unlike Congress governments of the past, Modi’s India does not bend or break under pressure,” he added.
Dismissing Mahesh Goud’s remarks as “frustration ahead of the civic body elections,” Subash challenged the Congress, ‘’If you are so confident, will you also agree to a recount in constituencies where your party rigged and won? Why only target Bandi Sanjay? Apply the same yardstick to your own MPs,” he asked.
