Sheikh Hasina resigned yesterday and fled the country as vast crowds of angry protesters demanded her exit.
Shortly after Hasina resigned, Army chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman said the military will form an “interim government” and urged to protesters to stand down.
The neighbouring country has plunged into uncertainty after extraordinary street protest over job quota forced Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to quit and flee.
She has arrived in India on her way to London, diplomatic sources said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security on the issue on Monday.
Meanwhile, it is gathered that India has allowed Sheikh Hasina’s stay in India for some more time.
