Hyderabad: The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) on Saturday issued a strong warning to former Andhra Cricket Association official Chamundeshwarnath, urging him to immediately desist from allegedly approaching and attempting to lure women cricketers affiliated with the TCA.

The association stated that any such interference in its affairs could invite legal action. In a statement, TCA General Secretary Dharam Guruva Reddy said the association has received multiple complaints from Telangana women cricketers alleging that they were being contacted by Chamundeshwarnath.

He claimed that the association has telephone call records and WhatsApp communications relating to these complaints. “We have been receiving repeated complaints from our women cricketers. We respectfully advise Chamundeshwarnath to refrain from such activities. Any further attempts to interfere with TCA players or its functioning may compel us to initiate appropriate legal proceedings,” Guruva Reddy said.

The TCA also questioned why individuals facing serious allegations continue to be given prominence in cricket administration. Guruva Reddy referred to reports already available in the public domain concerning complaints allegedly lodged by women cricketers during Chamundeshwarnath’s association with Andhra cricket.

He further claimed that despite such controversies, he has continued to remain active in cricket administration. “It is surprising that the Hyderabad Cricket Association continues to associate with and publicly honour such individuals by inviting them onto official platforms. The HCA leadership owes an explanation to the cricketing fraternity as to why persons facing such controversies are being projected as advisors and dignitaries,” he said.

The TCA further stated that Chamundeshwarnath had earlier been removed Page 2 of 2 from the Andhra Cricket Association and had faced legal proceedings in the past. The association added that reports regarding these matters have been widely circulated in the public domain. Guruva Reddy clarified that the TCA has no intention of indulging in character assassination and is merely placing on record concerns arising from complaints received from its registered women cricketers, along with information already available publicly.

“Our sole concern is the safety, confidence and welfare of our players. We are committed to protecting every cricketer representing the Telangana Cricket Association. We have advised the concerned players that if they believe they have been subjected to harassment or any form of intimidation, they are fully entitled to approach the police and seek legal protection under the law,” he added.

The TCA reiterated that it remains committed to providing a safe, transparent and professional environment for all cricketers, particularly women players, and asserted that it would take every lawful measure necessary to safeguard their interests.
