Hyderabad: In a heartwarming gesture, noted city-based photographer D. Ravinder Reddy presented a hand-painted portrait to Hyderabad-born Indian cricketer Tilak Verma, as a tribute to his match-winning innings against Pakistan in the recent Asia Cup.
Ravinder Reddy, whose photographs have been published in leading international outlets—including those capturing historic moments like the Babri Masjid demolition—said he was deeply inspired by Tilak’s fearless batting.
“Like millions of cricket lovers, I was moved by Tilak’s brilliant knock. I wanted to portray him as an aggressive yet composed cricketer who answers critics with his bat,” Reddy said, adding that he spent an entire day at the cricketer’s residence to complete the artwork.
He presented the painting to Tilak at Annapurna Studios, describing it as his “most satisfying work yet.” Reddy also revealed that actor Chiranjeevi is likely to felicitate Tilak Verma soon, as informed by the cricketer’s close friend Srinivas Nayudu.
