Millions Celebrate Guru Purnima with Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Bengaluru: Millions of devotees across the globe—from South America to Africa, Australia to India—celebrated Guru Purnima with deep reverence, joining the global festivities led by spiritual leader Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

The central celebration was held at the Art of Living Ashram in Boone, North Carolina (USA), where Gurudev guided a special full moon meditation on the eve of Guru Purnima. The event was streamed live in 182 countries, with devotees participating both online and in person. The program featured traditional tributes to the lineage of spiritual masters and included the presence of Swami Vachanand ji of Shwaasa Yoga.

“Guru Purnima is the day to feel connection and gratitude. The Guru relieves us of sorrow, brings joy, and awakens knowledge,” said Gurudev during his address.

In India, celebrations were held at Art of Living centers nationwide. In Bengaluru, the International Center hosted Vedic rituals including the Dakshinamurthy Homa and a mass Guru Puja led by Smt Bhanumathi Narasimhan alongside 150 pandits.

In New Delhi, over 5,000 devotees gathered at Bharat Mandapam to attend a vibrant satsang, swaying to devotional music by Sahil Jagtiani.

The event marked a profound spiritual moment for millions, uniting hearts and minds in gratitude for the presence of the Guru.
