Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met Adani Group director Jeet Adani on Sunday and discussed the investments of Rs 50,000 crore proposed by the conglomerate during the state’s business summit in February.
Sarma said the state government was expecting that the proposals given by the Adani Group for investment in various sectors would become a reality soon.
“During #AdvantageAssam2, the Adani Group made a Rs 50,000 cr investment commitment. Today, along with my senior officer,s we had an in-depth meeting with Mr Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Group, and his team to operationalize this commitment,” he said in a post on X.
It was that group chairman Gautam Adani announced an investment of Rs 50,000 crore for the state in February. The announcement was made during the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment & Infrastructure Summit 2025 in Guwahati.
The investment will be channeled into vital infrastructure sectors, including airports, aero cities, city gas distribution, transmission networks, cement production, and road projects. Adani expressed his enthusiasm about contributing to the state’s progress, stating, “It is this vision of progress that we are eager to be part of. Therefore, it is with great pride that I announce today the Adani Group’s commitment to invest Rs 50,000 crore in Assam.”
And the Chief Minister’s meeting today with Jeet Adani was part of that exercise to take the investment proposals forward in the state.
