Congress promises Rs 2,500 to women per month if voted to power in Delhi

New Delhi: The Congress on Monday announced a ‘Pyari Didi Yojana’, promising a monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500 to women if voted to power in Delhi.

The scheme would be rolled out on the lines of the model adopted by the Congress government in Karnataka.

Announcing the scheme, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said it aims to financially empower women, promising that it would be implemented at the first Cabinet meeting of the new government.

While addressing the media in the capital, Shivakumar expressed confidence in Congress forming the government.

Today, I am here to launch the ‘Pyari Didi’ scheme. I am confident that Congress will form the government in Delhi, and we will provide Rs 2,500 to women. This decision will be made in the first cabinet meeting,” he said.

Shivakumar added that the scheme will follow the same model that was implemented in Karnataka by the Congress government.
