BJP Slams CM Over Public Crises

Hyderabad: The Telangana BJP strongly condemns the state government’s continued insensitivity and failure to address the growing unrest and distress among its citizens. The BJP’s official spokesperson, N.V. Subash, on Monday issued a scathing critique of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s leadership, highlighted a series of grave incidents that showcase the state government’s neglect and ineffectiveness.

Subash drew attention to the tragic suicide of 48-year-old farmer Jadav Devrao from Saidupur village, Adilabad, reportedly due to harassment by bank officials. Despite the gravity of the incident, the Chief Minister and his colleagues have remained silent. BJP MLA Payal Shankar was compelled to stage a day-long hunger strike at his constituency headquarters to demand accountability and justice for the grieving family. This heart-wrenching case underscores the government’s lack of empathy and urgency in addressing farmer grievances.

In another alarming incident, an auto driver from Yellandu mandal took his own life due to severe financial distress, contributing to a shocking tally of 94 auto-rickshaw drivers’ suicides in the state. The BJP, acting as a responsible opposition, organized a protest rally involving over 1,000 auto drivers in Hyderabad to demand immediate intervention. However, the government has turned a blind eye, demonstrating a complete disregard for the plight of its citizens.

Perhaps most horrifying is the recent death of a 28-year-old man from Maheshwaram, who lost his life in a tragic road accident caused by a pack of street dogs chasing him. Despite repeated warnings and the BJP’s submission of a memorandum to the GHMC Commissioner and Mayor, the government has failed to act on the growing menace of stray dogs, putting countless lives at risk.

Subash also criticized the government for its inaction regarding farmers from Lakshmapuram village, Suryapet, who have been protesting against the Irrigation Department’s failure to restore water supply through the SRSP 70 DBM canal. Despite the presence of a high-profile district minister, Uttam Kumar Reddy, no initiative has been taken to address this critical issue, leaving farmers in dire straits.

“These incidents are not isolated; they reflect the broader failure of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s administration to govern with sensitivity or responsibility. Whether it is the tragic suicides of farmers and workers or the unchecked hazards affecting everyday lives, the government’s response has been either non-existent or indifferent,” Subash said.

The BJP firmly believes that the state government’s arrogance and apathy have reached alarming levels. As a party committed to the welfare of Telangana’s people, the BJP will continue to raise its voice and take these issues to the streets until justice is served and meaningful action is taken.

“If the government continues to ignore its responsibilities and fails to act, we will intensify our protests and hold Chief Minister Revanth Reddy personally accountable for the growing unrest in the state,” Subash concluded.
