BJP Questions Revanth Reddy’s Unrealistic Promises

Hyderabad: BJP State Spokesperson N.V. Subash today criticized Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for making lofty promises without addressing critical questions about funding and feasibility. Speaking on the Chief Minister’s announcements at Peddapalli, Subash termed these welfare schemes “empty rhetoric” designed to mislead the public, especially the youth.

Subash questioned how a government, which claims to have inherited a debt-ridden state from its predecessor, can propose expensive welfare initiatives and infrastructure projects. “Revanth Reddy often laments the fiscal mess left behind by the previous BRS government. Yet, he continues to announce grandiose schemes. Where will the funds come from?” he asked.

Drawing comparisons, Subash highlighted the approach of Karnataka’s Congress government under Siddaramaiah. “Unlike Revanth, Siddaramaiah openly admitted that financial constraints would limit his government’s ability to go beyond the election manifesto. Why can’t Revanth Reddy exhibit similar transparency?” he said.

He also referenced the Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government, where financial mismanagement has been evident, further urging Revanth to adopt a more realistic and accountable governance model.

Subash labelled the Peddapalli Yuva Vikas Sabha as another example of the Chief Minister’s misleading tactics. “The Chief Minister boasted about a Skill University with a massive budget, but where are the funds? His government even had to return a ₹100 crore donation from Gautam Adani’s group after controversies surrounding legal issues in New York,” Subash alleged.

He pointed out the delayed salaries for government employees and pensioners, saying it was a clear indication of the state’s precarious financial health. “Distributing employment orders at public meetings may grab headlines, but the truth is that this government is struggling to meet even basic financial commitments,” he added.

The BJP, Subash emphasized, is a responsible opposition that supports genuine development initiatives like the Musi Project and Hydra. However, he warned that these schemes must be implemented fairly, without targeting individuals or businesses with valid permissions.

“We demand greater transparency and accountability from the Revanth Reddy government. Announcing schemes without detailing funding sources only serves to hoodwink the public. The people of Telangana deserve better,” Subash concluded.
