Gol Hanuman Temple

Sri Gol Hanuman Mandir is a well-known Hanuman temple in Nizamabad, Telangana. It is revered as a “powerful temple of Lord Hanuman,” where devotees believe their wishes are often fulfilled.

Gol Hanuman temple has been a center of faith for nearly a century. The temple’s rooftop features beautifully crafted statues depicting scenes from the Ramayana. Inside, idols of the Dashavatars (ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu) add to the temple’s spiritual atmosphere.

One of the unique aspects of this ancient temple is the direction of worship. While devotees face south during darshan, the idol of Lord Hanuman faces east, symbolizing deep spiritual significance.

Gol Hanuman Temple is built in a circular shape, making it appear as if it is rotating. This temple, which is over 100 years old, houses a self-manifested (Swayambhu) idol of Anjaneya Swami.

According to legend, the self-manifested (Swayambhu) idol of Anjaneya Swami appeared under a massive Ravi tree. Recognizing the site’s sacredness, devotees constructed the temple in a circular shape, making it unique in its design and spiritual significance. The temple walls are adorned with carvings depicting Hanuman’s divine service to Lord Rama, including his meeting with Sita and his devotion to his master.

Another unique belief associated with the temple is that those who perform pradakshinas (circumambulations) around the idol in sets of 11, 21, 41, or 108 times will have their wishes fulfilled. Devotees strongly believe in the miraculous powers of the temple, especially in times of distress.

The temple celebrates several important Hindu festivals with great devotion. Hanuman Jayanti is the grandest festival, marking the birth of Lord Hanuman with special pujas, bhajans, and rituals, attracting thousands of devotees. Kartika Purnima is another major event when the temple is beautifully decorated, and special prayers are offered. Significant Saturdays like Trayodashi, Ashtami, and Amavasya hold special importance, with elaborate rituals performed. Additionally, weekly pujas take place every Tuesday and Saturday, considered especially auspicious for Hanuman worship. On every full moon (Purnima), Annadanam (free food distribution) is organized for devotees.
