BJP Slams Bhatti Vikramarka’s Statement as Admission of Guilt

Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly criticized Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka’s latest statement on the caste census, calling it an implicit admission of failure and deceit.
State BJP spokesperson N.V. Subash accused Vikramarka of misleading the public, stating that the government’s claim that only 3.1% of households initially withheld their details but are now willing to disclose them is a blatant “white lie.” He further questioned the legitimacy of the government’s assertion that 95% of households were covered, arguing that reports and videos on social media clearly show widespread resistance to the survey, with many people refusing to participate.

“How can the government ignore overwhelming evidence of surveyors being turned away by households? The data appears to be fabricated,” Subash alleged.

The BJP also reminded Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of his past stance when, as a member of the Telugu Desam Party, he opposed a similar survey conducted by the BRS, deeming it unconstitutional. “Now, his deputy claims that the remaining 3.1% will voluntarily provide their details—this is nothing but an absurd cover-up,” Subash added.

The party dismissed the February 16–28 extension for the leftover survey as another Congress-led gimmick to justify its 42% BC quota promise in local bodies. The BJP vowed to continue exposing the inconsistencies in the state government’s approach to the caste census.
