Lucknow: Kuldeep Yadav’s grand reception at Hotel Centrum on March 17 followed his intimate Mussoorie wedding and became one of Uttar Pradesh’s biggest social events this year. Cricket icons such as Gautam Gambhir, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, Shikhar Dhawan, and Yashasvi Jaiswal attended, alongside BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla. Guests were welcomed with floral showers, and the evening featured soft classical music in a celebratory setting.
The reception saw an unusual moment of political camaraderie as Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav both attended and blessed the couple. Kuldeep greeted each leader respectfully, touching Yogi Adityanath’s feet in a traditional gesture. Other political figures, including Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana and Minister AK Sharma, also joined the celebration, highlighting the event’s cross-party appeal.
Kuldeep arrived with Vanshika in a 1960s vintage car, which drew attention from guests and added a distinctive touch to the evening. The menu featured an authentic Uttarakhandi spread inspired by the Mussoorie wedding location, with dishes such as maduva roti, gahat dal, kumaoni raita, and jhangora kheer, reportedly costing over ₹6,000 per plate. This blend of regional cuisine and high-end presentation reflected the couple’s personal connection to the wedding’s setting.
Kuldeep and Vanshika, who grew up in Kanpur just a few kilometres apart, married on March 14 in Mussoorie in a ceremony attended by teammates and cricket veterans. The couple had been engaged since June 2025, after postponing their wedding to accommodate Kuldeep’s T20 World Cup commitments. Their journey from childhood friends to a high-profile marriage has captured public imagination, amplified by viral images from both wedding and reception.
