BJP Blasts Congress Disruption at Global AI Summit

Hyderabad: The Telangana State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a scathing attack on the Congress party over the unruly and provocative protest staged by Youth Congress activists during the ongoing international AI Summit. The BJP described the act — which included removing shirts and shouting slogans against the India–US trade engagement — as “shameful, juvenile, and a calculated attempt to tarnish India’s global image.”

In a strongly worded statement, State BJP Chief Spokesperson and Media In-Charge N.V. Subash said the protest reflected the Congress party’s “growing desperation and irrelevance.” He accused the Grand Old Party of stooping to “new lows of political theatrics” at a prestigious international platform attended by delegates and representatives from 22 countries.

“At a time when India is hosting world leaders, global CEOs, and technology pioneers to deliberate on the future of Artificial Intelligence, the Congress chose to embarrass the nation before the world,” Subash said. “This was not dissent. This was a disgrace.”

He alleged that the protest was deliberately timed to disrupt proceedings and draw sensational headlines at the cost of India’s credibility. “When you strip down at an international summit and shout slogans against India’s economic engagements, you are not attacking the government — you are attacking the nation’s standing,” he said, terming the act “anti-national in spirit and destructive in intent.”

Subash further argued that the protest reflects Congress’s frustration over India’s meteoric rise as a global power, particularly in the field of Artificial Intelligence. “India today stands among the top nations in AI innovation and adoption. From policy frameworks to startup ecosystems, the country has positioned itself as a serious technology leader,” he said.

He pointed out that several global leaders and technology heads have publicly acknowledged India’s growing clout in emerging technologies. France President Emmanuel Macron has described India as a rapidly emerging global force in AI, while top executives from global technology giants have repeatedly praised India’s talent pool and innovation capacity. “Instead of celebrating India’s achievements, Congress chose to sabotage the moment,” he added.

The BJP spokesperson also questioned whether the protest was spontaneous or orchestrated. He alleged that such disruptive acts could not have occurred without tacit approval from the Congress high command. “This appears to be a desperate bid by party dynasts to reclaim political space by manufacturing outrage, even if it means embarrassing India on a global stage,” Subash remarked.

He welcomed the swift intervention by the Delhi Police, stating that timely action prevented further disruption and preserved the dignity of the event. “Law enforcement ensured that the summit proceedings continued without descending into chaos. That is commendable,” he said.

Subash also claimed that even young participants and delegates at the summit were appalled by the conduct of the Youth Congress activists. “Many young attendees expressed disappointment and anger. They came to engage with innovation and opportunity, not to witness political gimmickry,” he noted.

Highlighting India’s thriving startup ecosystem, Subash said the country today boasts one of the world’s largest AI startup bases, powered by visionary policies and decisive leadership. “India’s rise in AI is no accident. It is the result of focused governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has consistently prioritized digital innovation, global partnerships, and economic growth,” he said.

Concluding his statement, Subash said the Congress party’s repeated attempts to undermine national achievements reflect a “self-destructive political culture.” He warned that encouraging young cadres to adopt disruptive and anti-India narratives would only further alienate the party from the aspirations of the nation’s youth.

“India is moving forward with confidence and global respect. No amount of theatrics by a frustrated opposition can derail that journey,” he asserted.
