21 Indian Junior Boxers Storm into Finals at Asian Youth Championships

Astana, Kazakhstan: In a remarkable show of talent and determination, 21 Indian junior boxers have advanced to the finals of the ASBC Asian U-22 & Youth Boxing Championships 2025, currently underway in Astana.

This achievement underscores the growing promise of Indian boxing on the international stage.

The Indian contingent has already amassed an impressive tally of 43 medals across the Youth and U-22 categories, including 5 golds, 9 silvers, and multiple bronzes in the youth division alone.

Five youth boxers clinched gold medals:

  • Brijesh Tata (48kg)

  • Aryan Hooda (51kg)

  • Yashwardhan Singh (63.5kg)

  • Laxmi (50kg)

  • Nisha (52kg)

The tournament has seen participation from over 390 boxers representing more than 24 countries, including heavyweights like China, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.

The finals are scheduled from Tuesday to Thursday.

The advancement of 21 junior boxers to the finals highlights India’s robust training programs and the rising caliber of its young athletes. The ASBC Asian U-22 & Youth Championships serve as a crucial platform for emerging boxers to gain international experience and showcase their skills.
