Vinay Rao
Aaron George, a name long familiar in Hyderabad’s junior cricket circles, is now beginning to command attention on a far wider stage. The past year has been particularly rewarding for the young cricketer. It began with him being part of history as Hyderabad lifted the Vinoo Mankad Trophy for the first time, and has continued with a series of impactful performances for the Indian Under-19 team.
His timely 85 against Pakistan, compiled under intense pressure, stood out as a true examination of temperament. It was an innings marked by composure, patience, and maturity—qualities that suggest a steady head on young shoulders. With the right guidance and sustained nurturing, Aaron George has the potential to go a long way. One can only wish him continued success as he progresses and represents Hyderabad with growing distinction.
Senior Team Keeps Hyderabad Smiling
While the juniors offer genuine hope for the future, the Hyderabad senior team continues to deliver performances that have brought sustained joy to cricket followers in the city. Credit is due to the players, the captain, and the selectors for crafting a winning formula built on clarity of roles, confidence in selection, and consistency in execution. The balance and momentum achieved at the senior level now need to be replicated across all teams representing Hyderabad.
A special note of appreciation must be reserved for Justice Naveen Rao, whose calm presence and firm anchoring have played an important role in stabilising and guiding this process during a critical phase.

Super League: Hyderabad Outclass Defending Champions
Hyderabad began their Super League campaign in emphatic fashion, registering a comprehensive victory over defending champions Mumbai. Batting first, Mumbai were restricted to a modest 131 in 18.5 overs, as their star-studded line-up featuring Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ajinkya Rahane, and Sarfaraz Khan found no answers to Hyderabad’s disciplined and incisive bowling.
Mohammed Siraj led the charge with three wickets, while C. V. Milind and Tanay chipped in with two apiece, maintaining relentless pressure throughout. Hyderabad’s response was brisk and assured. Aman blazed his way to 52 off 29 balls (5 fours, 3 sixes), while Tanmay Agarwal produced a commanding 75 off 40 deliveries (7 fours, 4 sixes), sealing an easy and authoritative win.
Rajasthan No Match for Confident Hyderabad
The second encounter against Rajasthan followed a similar script. Batting first, Rajasthan were rocked early and reduced to 19 for 3, with Tanay, C. V. Milind, and a sharp run-out by Arfaz doing the early damage. Regular wickets ensured Rajasthan never gained momentum, and they eventually limped to 178, with Deepak Lomror’s 48 and a few contributions in the twenties offering limited resistance.
Hyderabad’s bowlers once again stood tall, led by skipper C. V. Milind, who claimed three wickets, while Tanay matched him with three of his own. In reply, Hyderabad chased down the target of 179 in just 17.4 overs. Tanmay Agarwal continued his fine form with a fluent 73 (8 fours, 4 sixes), well supported by Rahul Buddhi’s aggressive 55 (6 fours, 2 sixes). Both batsmen struck at well over 150, underlining Hyderabad’s all-round dominance.
From promising performances at the junior level to commanding displays by the senior side, Hyderabad cricket is clearly in a healthy and confident phase. The blend of leadership, discipline, and emerging talent is producing results that inspire belief. The challenge now lies in sustaining this momentum and extending the same clarity and purpose across all levels. If that continuity is achieved, Hyderabad cricket appears well poised for a strong and enduring resurgence.
